Early Childhood Educator (casual)

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young children? Jacaranda Preschool is currently seeking flexible, dedicated and compassionate Certificate III qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our casual relief pool in Grafton.

About the Role:

As an Educator at Jacaranda Preschool, you will focus on:

• Responding to children’s strengths, interests and needs and contributing to the planning cycle and review within the room under the guidance of the room leader.
• Contributing to documenting children’s learning and development under the guidance of the Room Leader.
• Engaging in critical reflection of children’s learning to guide future programming.
• Engaging children in learning opportunities that are responsive to:
  • Role modelling positive interactions,
  • Respecting children’s similarities, differences, culture and diversity.
  • Maintaining each child’s dignity and the rights of each child,
  • Responding to the emotional, social and wellbeing needs of each child,
  • Providing physical care, assisting children in toileting, dressing and meal times; and viewing all these opportunities as teachable moments.

Most importantly, having a great attitude and a strong belief in children’s abilities is essential.

About You:

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Current child protection training – CHCPRT025 Identify and Report children and young people at risk, or hold CHCPRT001 with a willingness to upgrade to CHCPRT025.
• Current First Aid Certificate, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
• Completion of the Child Protection – Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk module (or willingness to complete)
• A genuine passion for working with children in a play-based, child-centred environment
• A commitment to upholding the rights of children and contributing to a safe and supportive learning space
• Current Working with Children Check (NSW)
