Jacaranda Preschool aims to provide a safe, play-based and stimulating environment where our children can discover, take risks, explore, grow and learn.
This allows them to flourish and simply ‘be’ themselves while learning about their family, culture, community and the world around them. We have a natural and welcoming environment, where risky play is encouraged to challenge and extend each child’s thinking, capabilities, resilience and strength.
Our preschool pets encourage children to grow and learn in all areas of development.
The children help care for and nurture the animals. They learn how to handle the animals correctly and love observing the animals. Jacaranda’s Preschool pets include Peter the rabbit, guinea pigs, stick insects, fish, chickens and native bees. Our chickens teach the children about the lifecycle of an egg and they learn about the importance of bees in our ecosystem. Our animals are respected and an important part of our community.
We aim to make rest time a relaxed, pleasant time for all children
Rest and sleep routines vary according to your child’s needs. We provide mats and play soft music for children who require sleep time. For children who do not sleep, we will provide small group activities for them to engage in, these include listening to stories, yoga, engaging in fine motor and sensory activities, visiting the bush tucker garden and school readiness activities. Your child may wish to bring a security item to have at rest time. Please feel free to discuss your child’s rest or sleep needs with Educators.
